It’s been a week since we made our decision to become full-time RVers and man is there a lot to learn. I have read more blogs in the last week than I have in the last 10 years. There is so much information out there which I am so grateful for, but at times it can be overwhelming. Although we currently have a 5th wheel, we want to upgrade to a bigger model, so Greg has been diligently looking for what would work with us living full-time in the RV. With it being just the two of us it does make it easier; however, there are so many different makes and models and floor plans that it makes the decision as hard as if we were buying a bricks and sticks type house. We have poured over many floor plans and spent a good part of today looking at actual rigs. Lucky for us, we both want the same things in our new home, so it makes finding the right one much easier.
Our search will continue until the right one comes along. At which point we plan to obtain our second home, so we can try it out several times between now and when we go full-time. That way we can work through all the kinks. My experience with RV’s consists of managing a campground some 25+ years ago and only dreaming I could have this lifestyle. Greg on the other hand has had an RV for many years. I keep asking him if he’s sure he wants to do this with me and he laughs and says, “Yes” I’m ready. We’ll see if he still feels that way once we’re on the road full-time. In the meantime, he’s got his work cut out for him as he tries to show me the ropes on how to set up, break down and all the ends and outs of RV life.
