Sweet & Sour Meatball Recipe

These meatballs can be served as an appetizer or the main course. As a main course, serve over rice and have a great meal. They are definitely worth the effort in making them from scratch.

Sweet & Sour Meatballs

  • 1 bottle (12 oz) chili sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup grape jelly
  • cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 tsp lemon joice


  • lbs hamburger meat
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • ½ cup dry bread crumbs


  • In a large saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients; warm over medium heat.
  • Meanwhile, in a large bowl, mix all meatball ingredients.
  • Roll into small meatballs. Add them to sauce gradually.
  • Cook over medium heat fro 35 - 40 minutes or until done.
