Our New Fifth Wheel

When Greg and I got married, he was already on his third RV and was use to living in one for extended periods of time.  I on the other hand have never owned one. Our current one lacked storage space, washer/dryer space and a residential refrigerator, which were the 3 main items we wanted.  Since we will be living in ours full-time as soon as we sell our sticks and brick place and eventually be on the road full-time we wanted to invest in something that would give us the things we wanted the most. So after much searching we decided on the Gateway 3500RE, which is made by Heartland. We cannot wait to start breaking her in over the next few months with our first trip in November to Florida to visit my family.

My first yard sale is coming up as I try to minimize all the “stuff” in the house. Deciding what to get rid of and what to keep is the toughest thing I’ve had to do in a while, but I know I will get through it. I keep reminding myself that the prize at the end of this is being able to see the U.S. in a way I had only dreamed off, but is now becoming a reality.

We are following a lot of blogs and gathering lots of information from all those who have embarked on this type of lifestyle before us and I appreciate all the information. I hope to be able to meet some of you on the road in the near future.
